Si nu cu mult in urma.

The movie world is a fickle one. With “The Tree Of Life” now screened and appraised, in a few hours everyone will move on and by tomorrow it will be just another story from Cannes. Another entry that got talked about, perhaps divided some audience members (a small core booed the film, but they were quickly quieted by the rest of the Lumiere Theater) and got Brad Pitt onto the red carpet. The sun will set tonight and the great wait for and mystery surrounding Malick’s film will be over. But bursting with ideas, images, sounds and a deep well of spirituality rarely ever tackled in either independent or mainstream cinema, Malick’s film is still an event. With “The Tree Of Life” the director has once again created a cinematic experience that is uniquely his own, often powerful and mesmerizing, at times overreaching and overbearing, but never forgettable. It’s another bold stroke from one of cinema’s most original voices, so put aside the hype aside, and let “The Tree Of Life” take root.

http://chocolatefriday.blogspot.com/...nabridged.html

"Unless you love, your life will flash by" (Terrence Malick - The tree of life)
"Fara dragoste, viata e pustiu" (Bachus - Secretul lui Bachus)

Favorita mea ramane Lynne Ramsay.

The kid with a bike - 3.1 / 4
The artist - 3 / 4
The tree of life - 2.8 / 4

E interesant ca, luat dupa numarul notelor maxime, podiumul e rasturnat !

The tree of life - 4 maxime
The artist - 3
The kid with a bike - 2

House of tolerance 1.1 / 4
Sleeping beauty 1.5
Polisse 1.7

Parerea mea .

Probabil ca pe coasta Frantei se tasteaza frenetic reviewurile de la Melancholia, as we speak.
Quote:
10.06am: On the other hand, Alex Billington of firstshowing.net opines: "No boos, not that much applause, a very 'meh' reaction to Melancholia in the Lumiere this morning." And Time Out's Dave Calhoun tweets: "Oh my, Lars Von Trier knows how to turn the apocalypse into a pretty snorefest. 'Melancholia' like walking through glue."

http://agenda.liternet.ro/articol/12...nnes-2011.html
E inadmisibil sa-i tii predici spectatorului sub orice forma daramite in mod nemediat, pe fata.

...daca-i tii predici, macar sa nu fie banale.

@Win - orice predica, if you break it down, e in cele din urma banala.

Dostoievski nici atat. Pana si Malick mi-a placut foarte mult prin acele monologuri relativ simple, dar foarte frumoase din The New World. Ce-i banal poate deveni extrem de complex in mintea spectatorului. De asta e frumoasa arta, de multe ori spectatorii vad lucruri pe care artistul nici nu le-a gandit, si asta nu-i nicidecum rau, pentru ca, desi interpretand in mod eronat opera, afla mai multe lucruri despre lume, despre sine etc.

In fine, m-am indepartat putin de idee.

Quote:
"For a long time I thought I was a Jew and I was happy to be a Jew," he began, "then I met (Danish and Jewish director) Susanne Bier and I wasn't so happy. But then I found out I was actually a Nazi. My family were German. And that also gave me some pleasure. What can I say? I understand Hitler … I sympathize with him a bit."
He added: "I don't mean I'm in favour of World War Two and I'm not against Jews, not even Susanne Bier."
And: "In fact I'm very much in favour of them. All Jews. Well, Israeli is a pain the ass but …".
And for the punchline: "Now how can I get out of this sentence? OK. I'm a Nazi."
