Au fost anuntate cele 49 de cantece care intra in cursa pentru nominalizare la Premiile Oscar 2009, anunta Variety. Lista cuprinde 11 melodii din "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" si alte trei din "Repo! The Genetic Opera". Pentru a putea intra in cursa pentru Oscar, un cantec trebuie sa contina versuri originale si muzica sa fie scrisa special pentru film. Doar doua cantece din acelasi film pot aparea pe lista finala a nominalizarilor.
