Sinopsis The Cold Light of Day

Intr-un sat din Europa de Est, o fetita este gasita moarta in padure. Un om fara adapost este arestat pentru crima, in ciuda protestelor detectivului Viktor Marek, care crede ca a fost arestat un nevinovat. Cand suspectul se sinucide, politia claseaza cazul. Viktor isi da demisia din politie, dar continua sa investigheze pe cont propriu. Deducand ca ucigasul folosea un anumit drum, Victor preia o benzinarie de pe drumul respectiv si le invita pe mama si fiica fara adapost sa locuiasca cu el in casa de alaturi.
