Scris de scenaristul de la Season of the Witch, Bragi F. Schut, The Voyage of the Demeter a fost descris de The Hollywood Reporter ca o reminiscență a primului film din franciza Alien.
Această comparație ar putea fi posibilă pentru că povestea are loc pe o navă al cărei echipaj are de furcă pentru a scăpa de setea nestăvilită a vampirului.

Mi-a plăcut și acesta și "Nosferatu". Ambele având la bază aceeași poveste cea a contului Dracula după cartea scrisă de Bram Stoker.
